Friends of Gale Free Library (FGFL) support the Library through a variety of fundraising projects, including memberships, special activities, and book sales designed to supplement town appropriations.
The Book Cellar
The Book Cellar is Holden’s used book store, located in the basement of the Gale Free Library. All proceeds from Book Cellar sales support our Gale Free Library.
We’re Back …
Welcome back to the Book Cellar! Thank you for visiting us at the Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 3-6 PM and at the shop in the basement of the Gale Free Library.
Our hours in the Book Cellar, Holden’s only Book Shop, are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1-4 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM-noon.
The Book Cellar will be closed on July 3-5 for the 4th of July holiday.
Thank you for supporting the library by visiting and donating to the Book Cellar. If you would like to add to your support the Gale Free Library, please consider becoming a volunteer.
We look forward to seeing you at the Book Cellar and the Farmers Market❗️
The Book Cellar will begin to receive book donations on Mondays only beginning July 12, 2021, from 1-4 PM. Although The Book Cellar is closed for book sales on Mondays, our volunteer staff will be there to check all books for their resale value and accept those books.
We are fussy. We only accept books that are clean and free from stains and mildew. If your books do not meet our high standards, we will ask you not to leave them with us.
Please note: We do not accept text books, encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, VHS videos, CDs.
We cannot receive books on Saturdays due to social distancing and the congestion it causes in the hallway when patrons are entering our beautiful shop. We must be mindful of the fire hazards in the hallway when leaving books unattended. Please do not leave books in any hallways, outside the library or in the book return bins. We appreciate and thank you for your understanding.
